The CK Dance staff is an amazing group of instructors. They have post high school education with many holding degrees in dance or education. Teachers have been on college teams and semi pro teams. Dance teachers perform and tour on the off seasons and attend dance conferences every year.
Kari Neth the owner grew up in Lincoln where she took class from Cheryl Priess Dickey, Marcia Kirk, Karen McWilliams, and Susan Jaskolka. As a member of the Lincoln City Ballet Company she danced under Elizabeth Merrey and Betsy Bobbenhouse. After graduating from Lincoln Southeast she went to Oklahoma City University to pursue a dance degree. She came back to the University of Nebraska and received her Bachelors in Fine Arts majoring in Dance. Making her way in the world she headed to California and landed a character role at Disneyland. The Midwest was calling her back. She moved back to Lincoln and taught at Hart Dance Academy. Kari has owned CK Dance Academy (formerly Club Kicks) since 1995. She loves teaching dance and passing that onto other students.
CK Dance Academy is proud to perform all around Lincoln and the surrounding area. Some of our performances have been at Gateway Mall, The Star City Parade, University of Nebraska soccer and basketball games, local high school basketball games, nursing homes, Lincoln Children's Museum, Lincoln Children's' Zoo, the Farmer's Market, Roca Berry Farm and the Annual 4th of July Celebration in Seward, NE. Every few years CK Dance Academy dancers make their way to the Branson, Missouri theaters. They performed at the Haygood's Theater, Branson Showboat Belle and many others. In 2017 the Dance Company will be going to Disneyland to perform in the holiday parade and dance on stage.
CK Dance Acdemy was organized in January 1995, under the name Club Kicks, with squads at three Lincoln, Nebraska, elementary schools. Since then, hundreds have participated in dance, cheer and pom classes at various locations. All-Star Teams were started in 1997 for those dancers who wanted to dedicate more time and energy toward the competitive drill team experience. These teams -- known as Club Kicks All-Stars -- have successfully competed in Chicago, Minneapolis, Southern California, Kansas City, Des Moines, Omaha and Branson, Missouri, bringing home numerous superior trophies and plaques. After many years on the competition circuit we have hung up that hat. As our dance enrollment grew we are now a non competitive dance studio.
